If you use the radio as a daily contact tool, you can charge it overnight. But you should not always leave the radio in the charger, only when the battery is out of power, or it will damage the battery.
CTCSS means Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System; DCS means Digital Coded Squelch.
In Olywiz Two-Way-Radio there are 50 CTCSS codes and 105 DCS codes. These code will help you to reduce or eliminate the interference between other users that are talking. For example, if you are on channel 1 privacy codes 63, you can only talk and listen to someone that is on the same channel/ privacy codes.
Transmission range for any two-way radio depends many factors as local conditions and interference. You can have a better range in an open field than you get inside the city.
Generally, if there are barriers like hills, buildings, streets, or other signal interference between you and the other radio, your range will be reduced for the signal will be weaken.
Depending on care and use, rechargeable batteries can be expected to last 2 to 3 years. If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, we recommend you remove it from the radio and stored it in a cool, dry, clean place. A charged battery will eventually lose its charge even in unused status. So it is necessary to recharge the battery after a storage period.
Actual battery run-time depends upon the power demands made by the equipment it powers, a 5W radio consume more power than a 2W radio. Also the frequency of utilization will effect the run-time of the battery. Generally it will keep on work for1-2days on a single full charge.
First please confirm both radios have the same channel selection and Privacy Code settings
Then make sure you are in range of the other radio, confirm the communication way between radios isn’t obstructed by too much barriers like hills, buildings and other structures.
All single band Olywiz two-way radios are compatible with each other. While dual band Olywiz two-way radio can work together. When communicating with different brand, you should get the channel frequency tables for the radio (in the user’s manuals) and program the frequency by software to make them work together.
Also privacy codes (CTCSS) are also compatible on each radio. Each radio must be set to the same channel and CTCSS code/DCS code for the radios to communicate with each other.
The light indicates the status of the battery charger. Red light indicates battery is on charge, while the green light indicates battery is full charge. If the LED light blinks, please check if the battery is installed correctly.
For the first charge, the battery should be charged over 24 hours. Thereafter each charging should be 6 - 8 hours to fully recharge, when the batteries is out of power.
Olywiz two-way radios have a range of up to 5 miles or more. Generally the range of two- way radio is depends on the barriers around you. If in an open area, the range can be broader.
If you are in the city, range may reduce the range to 2 miles or less.
Make sure that the volume is turned up loud enough to hear.
Then if it doesn’t work, you need to confirm the private code of the channel is same to another radio. After these trying, if it still doesn’t work, you need to go to the maintenance point to repair.
First, please confirm both radios are on the same channel and in same privacy code settings;
Then make sure you are in range of the other radio;
Confirm that there is no too much obstacle like buildings, hills and other structures on your contact line.
According to the FCC Universal Licensing System, if you use GMRS frequency, you need to apply a GMRS License to use your radio legally. You can apply the license online at https://www.fcc.gov/
and pay the license fee. A license for a GMRS system is usually issued for 5 years. The fee to file an application within ULS varies depending on your radio service and the purpose of your application. For FRS Frequency, you do not need to apply a license.
The communication range depends on the environment, in down town area the range will be shorten in several hundred meters. In wild filed a 2W radio’s range will up to 3 miles, a 5W radio’s range will up to 5 miles. If you need to use in underground parking, i introduce 5W radio. The received signal strength of 5W radio is stronger than 2W.
Yes, you can use more than 5 radios in a group, you can connect with each radio on the same frequency. But if two radio send signal at the same time, it may cause signal jam. A repeater is not have to, but a repeater will make the signal farther, it is useful in wild field.
It depends on the capacity of the battery pack. Usually it can keep working for about 3 days in standby status. If you use the radio too often, you may need to charge the radio once a day. If not, you can charge the radio in 2 days or 3days.
Yes, you can change the frequency data through a PC program software, you can ask your seller send you the frequency table and software. But at the first, you need a programming cable.
I buy 2 packs of HTD826, they are separated in two color boxes, each of them contains 1 radio, 1antenna, 1Li-ion Battery, 1desktop charger, 1adapter, 1belt clip, 1wrist loop, 1user’manual.
You need to know the frequency table the wh29, and add the frequency to the UV6S manually.
But i recommend you to use the same radio together, for the UV6S is a Dual band radio. If you use it with a single band radio, it may waste other function of UV6S. You can simply buy a single radio to connect a single band radio.
